Job Title:   MANAGER OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Starting Salary:   $6,133 - $10,362 per month

Job Description:   Act as VIA’s responsible agent with all Local, State and Federal regulatory agencies. Responsible for the development, planning, coordination, fiscal oversight and overall management and compliance of VIA’s Environmental Management Plan. Works to effectively minimize the environmental impact of VIA operations. Responsible for communicating VIA’s environmental policy, activities, and benefits to stakeholders within and outside of the VIA organization. Works closely with all federal, state and local jurisdictions which minimally include; the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Underground Storage Tank (UST) program, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Air Act, Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC), San Antonio Water System (SAWS), San Antonio River Authority (SARA) and the Texas Department of Health (TDH) to ensure VIA’s highest level of compliance and overall efforts to sustain and improve the program of protecting human health and the environment. Manages, conducts field sampling and analysis, provides training to staff, updates documents and files all pertinent records for various environmental programs and permits such as VIA’s material safety data sheets and the Blood Borne Pathogens Programs. Ensures a commitment to safety through consistent and professional behaviors in performance of job requirements that demonstrate safety is a fundamental value that guides all aspect of our work.

Education and Experience:   Must have Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Policy, Engineering, Management or related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in administration of environmental regulatory and sustainability programs, or an equivalent combination. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. Education and/or experience beyond minimum requirements may be used to determine an equivalent combination.
