Job Title:   STRATEGIC PLANNER III

Starting Salary:   Min: $5,890 – Mid: $8,138 per month

Job Description:   This position is assigned a leadership role in planning, development, and coordination of projects. Incumbents work independently on complex projects and/or serve as project leads to provide direction to other planners on a work team. Responsible for conducting comprehensive analysis and specialized studies, drafts policies and developing project specific work programs, scopes of work, independent cost estimates, budgets, and grant requests in support of transit plans and program development. Examines strategic performance, evaluates opportunities, looking for strategic solutions, and developing creative action plans. Initiates and leads the development of capital feasibility studies and capital projects. Works closely with all functions, but very closely with service planning, engineering, capital planning, real estate, public engagement, procurement, and financial functions.

Education and Experience:   A Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in planning, or transportation or civil engineering, or architecture, or urban planning, or economics, or business, or related field, and at least five (5) years of applicable work experience in a transit, transportation, project management; or land development activity or related field. This experience must include two (2) years of project management. A Master’s Degree or related professional certificate or license is desired (i.e. AICP, AIA, PE, PMP). A combination of relevant education and experience may be acceptable.
