Job Title:   STRATEGIC PLANNER II

Starting Salary:   $4,968 - $6,195 per month

Job Description:   Responsible for conducting comprehensive analysis and specialized studies, drafting policies and developing project specific work programs, scopes of work, independent cost estimates, budgets, and grant requests in support of transportation plans and program development. Formulates long-term plans and provides consultation to other staff on VIA planning matters. Analyzes and organizes information to develop recommendations to increase community mobility. Conducts scenario analyses and examines VIA’s strategic performance. Evaluates regional transportation needs and initiatives and implements creative action plans. Assist in and leads the development of capital feasibility studies and capital projects. Works closely with all functions, but very closely with service planning, engineering, capital planning, real estate, public engagement, procurement, and financial functions.

Education and Experience:   A Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in planning, or transportation or civil engineering, or architecture, or urban planning, or economics, or business, or related field, and at least four (4) years of applicable work experience in a transit, transportation, project management, or land development activity or related field. A Master’s degree with concentration in planning or closely related field is preferred. A combination of relevant education and experience may be acceptable.
