Job Title:   MANAGER OF BUS SERVICE TRANSPORTATION

Starting Salary:   $6,225 - $10,673 per month

Job Description:   To manage and direct the overall activities of the Bus Service Transportation Department, which is responsible for on-street supervision of buses, Bus Operators, field Bus Supervisors, Bus Dispatchers, and the activities of the bus dispatch center at TransGuide. Serves as Project Manager for VIA Link Mobility on Demand service, responsible for the implementation and monitoring of new service zones. Accomplishes the department’s goals and objectives supporting the strategic plan of the agency, efficiency of operation, cost effectiveness, and positive management-labor relations. Is available at all times to respond to major incidents/accidents that occur on the system, when severe weather strikes, or other major distributions to service, providing updates to senior management as needed. Responds to all operation complaints, suggestions and safety concerns. Works to ensure that all service is provided in an efficient, safe, and reliable manner.

Education and Experience:   Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field and five (5) years transit operations experience, including two (2) years in a transit operations supervisory role, or an equivalent combination.
