Job Summary

Starting Salary:   $7,933 - $13,658 per month

Job Description:   Directs preparation of VIA’s annual departmental operating and capital budgets, activities of grants administration, preparation of the VIA Strategic Business Plan, and reporting of financial status and projections. Tracks/monitors and projects performance metrics, conducts financial analysis, and serves as project manager for special projects. Works with departments to examine and analyze innovative strategies and programs for potential application to VIA. Directs activities of the Manager of Operating Budget and Performance Reporting, and Manager of Capital Budget and Grants. Manager activities include: - Working with departments to set annual and short-term goals, objectives, performance metrics, and supporting budget that tie to VIA vision, mission and strategic plan - Monitoring adherence to budgetary goals, objectives and performance - Working with departments to conduct management reviews for budget status and projection explanation - Conducting analysis for special projects - Developing the business case for innovation projects The expected outcome is to enhance system efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service in order to meet VIA’s vision, mission, goals and objectives.

Education and Experience:   Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field and at least five years budget, finance/accounting experience, or an equivalent combination thereof. Transportation industry experience preferred.
