Job Summary

Starting Salary:   $5,236 - $8,888 per month

Job Description:   Performs specialized technical work of considerable complexity and responsibility requiring an extensive amount of knowledge of theory and practice in accounting and finance, and expertise and experience in maintaining electronic accounting records. Responsible for coordinating and preparing VIA's annual budgets. Prepares National Transportation Data (NTD) submissions, client-prepared audit schedules, and various financial reports. Performs financial analysis relating to business opportunities, variances, and operating/financial performance. Administers VIA's cash reserves investment program, executing securities/investment transactions as needed. Assists in the preparation of Annual Business Plan and Budget Book, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), and forecasts. Work is performed under minimal supervision, and requires initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to develop effective solutions. Supervises department functions in absence of Manager.

Education and Experience:   Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. CPA Certification highly desired. A minimum of five (5) years experience in budget and/or financial analysis, or an equivalent combination.
