Job Title:   SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Starting Salary:   Min: $5,408 – Mid: $7,441 per month

Job Description:   Performs specialized technical work of considerable complexity and responsibility requiring a considerable amount of knowledge of theory and practice in accounting and finance, and expertise and experience in maintaining accounting records. Responsible for preparing financial and analytical reports. Work is performed under occasional supervision only and requires initiative and independent judgement to analyze data or situations and determine solutions to problems within the limits of standard practice and VIA policy. Plans own work and refers unusual matters to supervisor. May be required to assist in the preparation of forecasts and other studies based on various operating statistics. Supervises department staff in absence of Manager.

Education and Experience:   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, and at least three years’ experience, or an equivalent combination. Prefer Master’s degree in accounting or related field. Prefer CPA eligible.
