Job Summary

Starting Salary:   Min: $6,318 – Mid: $8,656 per month

Job Description:   Responsible to the Vice President of Program Delivery for VIA’s strategic planning department functions. Assists the Vice President of Program Development in preparation of the division’s annual manpower and budget activities. Organizes, directs, monitors and is responsible for the work of the Strategic Planning Department. Responsible for social, economic, and environmental policy analysis and long-range planning related to fixed route, fixed guideway transit, demand response transit and transportation systems. Responsible for highly complex multi-project managerial work by providing direction and guidance regarding strategic operations and planning implementation related to the Long Range Comprehensive Strategic Plan including High-Capacity Transit Corridor planning, facilities master plan, and other special transportation projects, plans and studies.

Education and Experience:   Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning or related field and at least 7 years of applicable work experience in transit and transportation planning and policy analysis. This experience must include 5 years of project management in areas of transit plans, projects, and studies, and urban planning. Master’s Degree is preferred. Professional Certificate or License is preferred (i.e. PE or AICP).
