Job Summary
Job Title:   STRATEGIC INITIATIVES MANAGER

Starting Salary:   Min: $6,429 – Mid: $8,903 per month

Job Description:   Leads, advises, and/or participates in special projects of strategic importance to VIA, involving the public, customers, internal/external partners, and other stakeholders. Collaborates across the organization to drive delivery and gain stakeholder alignment and maintain progress/positive engagement on strategic initiatives. Creates and manages the link between external and internal resources by identifying key issues and opportunities and facilitating the development and implementation of key project objectives. Identifies issues with short- and long-term impact on the project, analyzes risks, and advises the Vice President and Senior Vice President of the Division, as well as other project stakeholders, on developing strategy to address such issues.

Education and Experience:   Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in a field related to one or more areas of department responsibility, including Strategic Communications and Marketing, Project Management, and Public Involvement. 7 years of experience in progressively responsible positions to provide an adequate background in a broad range of functions pertaining to public engagement, including but not limited to strategic planning and program development and analysis for a public or private sector organization specifically where assignments have included significant interaction with executives, public officials, engineering and/or marketing firms, large teams, and community organizations. 3 years of experience in a management position Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be acceptable.
